Introductions

I made it to college and I (somehow) managed to make it to the Cass building. Being a film major with a hopeful minor in writing, I’ll be spending a lot of time in there; it’s unique and somewhat isolated building is definitely going to become a haven and an occasional menace to me, but I’m looking forward to it nonetheless.

My name is Olivia Miranda, and I am a student at the University of Tampa. I’m originally from New York, but I’ve lived here in Tampa for the last 16 years (though I still will never call myself a Floridian). Ever since I can remember, I’ve been artistic; painting, drawing, ceramics- I’ve taken my shot at as many mediums as I can, though I prefer photography and videography. I’m extremely passionate about both, so my deciding factor for choosing my major was simple: people. I like to work with people, and the more the merrier.

As for Art 210, I walked into the class still unsure of what I was getting myself into, but I left excitedly terrified for what was to come in the semester. I’m not Photoshop’s biggest fan, but I’ve always wanted to conquer it and I look forward to doing just that in this class. I hope to further understand more softwares and connect what I can do within them to what I can do on the big screen. Visuals inspire me; they drive me to create and to create in my own way. So I guess what I truly hope to get from this class is inspiration, and I believe that between what I’ll do and the classmates I’ll get to do it with, I’ll be able to find it quite easily.
