Assignment #3: Calligram

For our second assignment, the calligram, I really enjoyed it. My sister, a graphic designer, completed the same project years ago in her digital media class, so to be able to create another cool image that my parent can put up on the fridge next to hers was a good feeling.

I loved how much freedom we had to create whatever we really wanted. The only thing I would've changed about this whole project was I wish we'd have more time to complete it. It was difficult learning all the processes, given hurricane Irma's inconsiderate drop-i., But, having said that, I am really proud of my calligram and love the concept I came up with. People often push others away when they need them the most, and that's what this captures; the mixed signals that come with pain.

Assignment #2: HTML

For our second assignment, the HTML Illustrator project, we were faced with the task of creating an image with a list of required shapes and nothing to work with besides a series of code. I found the project itself extremely interesting because I've always wanted to learn how to code something. However, the assignment was definitely a challenge that forced me to come face to face with some serious frustrations. Still a cool project, still a cool thing to learn to do, but not something I'd prefer to do in a few day-span time crunch.
